London Waste

London Waste is one of the capital’s largest waste management companies, offering a range of recycling and disposal services to both the public and private sectors. Handling over 1 million tonnes of waste a year, operating out of seven sites, it is a truly diverse waste management company.

The company handles commercial, confidential, green and clinical waste for a range of customers including businesses, hospitals and non-profit organizations.

London is not self sufficient in waste handling and with a growing population is in desperate need of recycling and waste treatment facilities within its boundaries.  For this reason London Waste have developed an EcoPark at their 43 acre Edmonton site. The park includes bulking facilities for metal, paper, wood and green recyclates. LondonWaste EcoPark is an ideal location being next to the North Circular Road, with canal access and some distance from residential areas.

ISYS applications Gatehouse, Skipman and Mediwaste help control all waste activities, both operationally and back office invoicing and reporting for London Waste at strategic sites.

ISYS supply Gatehouse unmanned systems which include Tag Technology for the Borough and Trade vehicles to enter and leave the site in a controlled manner. The Gatehouse systems are directly linked to barrier controls and Tag Readers.

Mark Beattie head of information technology at London Waste, explains “that Gatehouse has helped the organization to centralize its accounting at the Edmonton head office by monitoring all loads of waste at transfer stations and the Edmonton Incinerator plant. The system has helped us to manage the performance of different waste contracts and is kept totally up to date with current legislation.”

ISYS has recently completed a new project for London Waste to utilize handheld PDA’s for booking control procedures at its recycling bays.
